The Witcher Enters The Big League, Joins Bridgerton In The List Of Top Shows On Netflix

Things are just getting better for the Netflix adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski‘s The Witcher. The fantasy drama starring Henry Cavill as the major lead is now one of the most-watched English shows on the streaming platform. The Netflix Original also stars Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey in lead roles. Season 1 and season 2 of the show are now in positions 3 and 5, respectively.

Netflix’s critically acclaimed show Bridgerton occupies the top spot on the list; followed by Stranger Things Season 3, and at number four we have the second season of 13 Reasons Why.

The Witcher is now on the list of most-watched shows on Netflix

The Witcher was indeed not that welcomed when it first arrived on Netflix in 2019. The show received mixed reactions from the critics and the fans, majorly because of its Dunkirk-like storytelling. But everything changed this past December, as The Witcher Season 2 came in with a fresh shot of adrenalin. The season upped the tempo of the series and thus made the entire world see and talk about it.

The Witcher season 1 now has been watched for 541,010,000 hours, and season 2 for 484,320,000 hours in total.

The show primarily focuses on the story of Geralt of Rivia, Princess Cirilla, Yeneffer of Vengerberg. As the characters are linked together with destiny, and will now fight together to protect each other from various threats that await them. The new seasons may just push The Witcher up this list, as it clearly has the pedigree to become one of the best all-time shows. Regardless of whether we talk about shows on Netflix or shows in general.

Luckily we can at least confirm The Witcher Season 3 will start filming really soon, hope we get to see Geralt fighting monsters really soon. The further seasons will also explore the character of Ciri in more depth, owing to the fact that she is a Source.
