Ryan Reynolds sometimes feels like an unbelievable man, as he keeps astounding people with something new every time. At one moment, he is that hilarious guy who goes savage with his words while at the other he comes up with goodwill towards society. We have seen Reynolds taking goodwill projects into his hands to help people around the world, including him being a part of the Climate Reality Project for the last 25 years, as he wants to save our environment.

In 2008, the Deadpool star got involved with the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Since then, he has been spreading awareness of Parkinson’s disease as a member of the board. In his forever style, Reynolds once lauded Fox for his grit to fight against a chronic disease.

In 2019, Ryan Reynolds introduced Michael J. Fox at the annual fundraising event of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The famed actor praised the founder for showing relentless commitment to helping impacted people. He said that Michael has been an inspiration to him all these years, and this has led to a big change.

“When Michael and Tracy are involved their optimism is contagious and it fuels our resolve,” stated the Red Notice star.

Reynolds also recalled the time when he joined the New York City marathon as a Team Fox runner. The Canadian star joked at the event about how he completed the marathon with difficulty, saying: “I’m the only person in the history of the New York City Marathon to cross the finish line legally dead so that’s me.”

The Free Guy star talked about how the foundation has incredibly progressed with millions of donors joining. The foundation has been expanding its reach as they have resources to research Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, Michael, Ryan, and all other participants are dedicated to this until they find a cure. Since Ryan’s father has suffered from the same disease for about 20 years, he knows what is like to be in that situation.

Meanwhile, the founder Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with the disease in 1991 and has been fighting it since. So he created this organization in 2000 to find improved therapies with the ultimate goal of a complete cure. As for this year, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s event will take place on October 29, 2022. The annual gathering is an evening of comedy and music that helps to raise funds for the Foundation.
