“The Adam Project is my favorite movie”: Ryan Reynolds Reveals the Personal Reasons He Adores This Movie on the David Letterman Show

Anyone who saw the Ryan Reynolds episode of David Letterman knows that the interview was as authentic as it gets. We saw sides of the ever hysterical Ryan that we had never seen before. And as we finished the hour-long episode, we got to know so much about his life that probably no one knew before.

And as the interview was ending, Ryan made it clear that The Adam Project was his favorite film. But in his career of over 50 films and a dozen tv appearances, why does a single movie make it to the list? Well, let us try to find out.

David Letterman is a man who asks a lot of questions, so when he asked Ryan for his favorite film. Ryan replied, “The Adam Project is my favorite movie.”

The Adam Project deals with a lot of emotional themes such as childhood, relationship with your father, and how you perceive your father at a young age. Maybe that’s why when Ryan named the Netflix Original as his favorite.

Ryan then further praises the film by calling it the most personal film he has made. But why The Adam Project? Well, not all know this, but Ryan had a difficult relationship with his father. He talked about this in the David Letterman episode, as well.

Ryan says that as the youngest in the family, he was never able to understand his father and never got to know him. That’s why he perceived him in his own way. But as he got older, he understood his father in a much better way because he himself was one now.

And The Adam Project especially deals with this. It tells the story of Adam, who is able to travel back in time when he is the same age as his father. The whole story is about Adam getting a chance to know his father, Louis (Mark Ruffalo), in a way he never got to.

Ryan’s personal connection with the film may have been a reason for its immense success. But it also felt great to know as viewers that we got to see such a personal film to him.
