In fact, they made it clear that anybody bidding for the team should make him a part owner of the team. They are confident that no one can match him when it comes to promoting a brand. Plus his marketing company, Maximum Effort, has also been making good progress. They believe that no one can tell or sell the story of Senators better than the Free Guy actor.

He is believed to have talked with Michael Andlauer, and Toronto billionaires Jeffrey and Michael Kimel already, about the purchase. Reynolds has been speaking to potential buyers to find his perfect partners and see how they can work together. The actor was to choose a group in the beginning but was advised by NHL to first wait and see who is buying the team first. The Canadian-born actor has a personal attachment to the game’s culture and wants to help it be in the limelight.

One potential idea after purchasing the team is to make a Welcome To Wrexham-style documentary. Perhaps, a reality show on similar lines could help the Senators, and by extension, the NHL. A big announcement is expected to be made by Christmas time about the purchase.
