‘Stranger Things’ Losing Their MVP for Season 5 Might Just Be the Biggest Loss for the Last Millie Bobby Brown Outing
Horror, sci-fi, action, fantasy, and drama—Netflix used all these ingredients to serve up its main course of content, Stranger Things that viewers can never get their fill of. The only thing missing from the enthralling series was a pinch of comedy, which it made up for with a sprinkle of refreshing lightheartedness in season 4. So, what is next for Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven and the gang?

It was confirmed today that the man who lent his comedic presence to season 4 of Stranger Things, Eduardo Franco will not be reprising his part of Argyle in the final season. This news has devastated fans who appreciated this funky enigmatic character. After all, Argyle was the unsung hero of season 4. His laid-back stoner vibes were just as crucial to the series as his quick-thinking maneuvers that ultimately saved Eleven.
The Surfer Boy Pizza employee who was introduced as Jonathan Byer’s best bro became an unmissable presence despite being a side character. With all narratives coming to a head in season 5, the Hawkins gang could have done with some of Argyle’s hair-flipping flair as a break from the drama that is going to ensue.
Considering how Franco was let go, fans are certainly irked by this decision all the more.

Franco appeared in an episode of the Steve Varley Show podcast a couple of days ago. During it, he was asked why he did not appear in the first photo of the Stranger Things sets shared to X (previously Twitter) earlier this week. The enigmatic 29-year-old confessed he never “got a phone call” requesting him to revive his Argyle part in the series!
With a grim expression, he relayed his appreciation for those who had raised “concern” over his removal. The host voiced everybody’s thoughts by saying that maybe there was still “hope” for that to happen. Meanwhile, the showrunners have not yet explained the reason behind this now-finalized move. Well, forlorn fans could still call the number on the Surfer Boy Pizza truck to hear Argyle’s voice talking back to them as consolation.
