According to The Athlete, the co-owners of Wrexham have changed the life of a 30-year-old woman confined to a wheelchair. The publication interviewed Kerry Evans, who was recently seen in the first season of the Wrexham documentary series. Currently working as a disability liaison officer in the club, Evans has gone through tough times more than one could imagine. She revealed that her body was paralyzed following a bleed on the brain. This instance snatched away all the happiness of her life, making her dependent on others.
“I couldn’t even get into a bathroom. I’d have to have bed-baths and then twice a week be picked up by taxi and taken to a care home to have a bath. Real, real dark times and a big ordeal for many years,” she recalled.
However, all this changed when she heard about a vacancy at the Wrexham Club and got appointed as a liaison officer. Kerry continued that like many natives, she wasn’t sure of Ryan Reynolds and his buddy owning Wales legacy. But she is happy they did because these two have brought incredible changes on these grounds. Including giving a voice to people like Kerry Evans who think they can’t contribute to society because of their disability.
