Being unapologetically hot and having a chic fashion sense, Twilight actor, Robert Pattinson has won the hearts of many with no intention of doing so. But all of it comes with a price. It seems like Pattinson has had a rough ride. Having worked in big-budget films and Independent movies, the English actor has made quite a name for himself. Although he is not very fond of being the center of attention and making public appearances, he leaves a mark whenever he does.
From playing Harry Potter’s Cedric Diggory to Twilight’s Edward, his characters have set surprisingly hot standards, with people often viewing the English actor as a sex symbol. However, Pattinson himself does not conform to these pre-defined men’s body standards and has often lauded his strong dislike and resistance towards it. In a recent interview with the Evening Standard, the quick-to-laugh actor once again added to the rhetoric, discussing how a certain type of body image expectations has trickled down the young boys. And we all need to ponder upon it.
Robert Pattinson once again calls out toxic male body standards
The pleasingly off-beat Batman actor apparently talked to the U.K.-based outlet about many things at par. But what caught our attention is his apparent frustration and disagreement with the uncanny body image standards. He informed the interviewer that although he has not been the prey of body image issues, he has tried varied diets and has “basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency.” Furthermore, the 36-year-old London-born actor finds these practices “crazy” and “insidious.”
Recalling the time when he was on a ‘just boiled potato and Himalayan salt diet’ and on Keto (a diet where you get to eat charcuterie boards and cheese all the time but no bear. Of course, it was a no-no for the actor) elsewhere; Robert Pattinson gave prominence to how addictive watching your calorie intake can be. Notably, the Dior ambassador also shone a light on his previous comments on his workout schedule while talking to GQ, admitting that he was in trouble for saying he does not have a schedule as such. However, his resistance to shredding himself for movie roles continues- hints Pattinson while vaping all the time in his interview with ES.
