There have been countless stories about fans approaching stars and mistaking them for someone else. Most popularly, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt have encountered fans who mistook them for each other. Although they obliged the fan requests instead of breaking their hearts, however, it gets a little embarrassing for a news outlet to credit the wrong stars. And it did happen once during the promos of The Gray Man when Reynolds was mistaken for his fellow Canadian actor, Ryan Gosling. 

The actor reacted to the mistake but in a cheeky way as is expected from the funniest guy in Hollywood!

The $200 million film was the most awaited project on Netflix this year. The movie starred Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas in the lead. It was about Gosling’s Courtland Gentry, a skilled mercenary that accidentally uncovered a CIA dark secret. This propelled the CIA to announce a manhunt that was led by the unhinged Evan’s Llyod Hansen. Before the release of The Gray Man, Netflix had released several promo images to get the audience hyped up. But a particular outlet, News18 mixed up both Canadian stars with the same first names.

They reported about Ryan Reynolds co-starring with Chris Evans in the Russo Brothers’ action spectacle. And it came to the notice of the Wrexham AFC owner. In reply to the post, he didn’t correct the error but instead tweeted how he was having such a glorious 2022. 

Well, the father of three did have a very good year. His last outing with Netflix, The Adam Project was a hit and stayed on top of the charts for many months to come. Next, he is gearing up for Deadpool 3 which will co-star his best friend Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Evans did have a cameo in Reynolds’ Free Guy but Gosling and Reynolds are yet to share screen space together. The former will appear in next year’s Barbie opposite Margot Robbie.
