As per a source, the reporter wanted to get Mendes’ attention for a photo. In order to do that, he referred to her as a ‘baby’. This did not sit well with Gosling who immediately hit back with, “Who are you calling baby?” Before things could go further, Mendes calmed the situation down. The reporter and Gosling then shook hands to make peace.

At the time of the incident, in 2013, the couple were on promotions of their movie together. Since then, they have had two daughter, Esmeralda and Amanda Gosling. Despite expanding into a family now, both Gosling and Mendes are happily unmarried. The Hitch actress has also expressed that while she is happy for other married couples, she and her partner are happy being in a relationship without giving it the tag of marriage.

The couple is mostly private about their relationship, but they drop sneak peeks of their life now and then. On workfront, Gosling will be next seen in the movie Barbie alongside Margot Robbie. He is also shooting for his next action thriller, The Fall Guy, during the shoot of which, the La La Land actor was snapped by the Paparazzi, sporting a gash on the head.
