Ralph Macchio Found It Hard to Do This Scene of Cobra Kai Season 4 and It Was Dumped
A series where the actors give their 100% is great, and Cobra Kai is the perfect example of it. The comedy-drama series entered its 4th season on December 31 and is enjoying positive reviews. However, what if we said Ralph Macchio (Daniel) didn’t give it his all for Cobra Kai season 4? Of course, it wasn’t a big deal, but the actor cost us one hilarious scene.
Johnny and Daniel’s team-up was the USP (unique selling point) of season 4, with some additions. This new combination of defense and offense gave us some of the funniest moments of the series. So, let us look at what potential hilarious scene did we miss because of Ralph Macchio.

The warring senseis team-up because they know their styles complement each other. Thus, they want to make their students strong enough to win the bet against Cobra Kai. Since the series isn’t a TikTok, the two senseis can’t simply skip to the good part. So we got a lot of training montages where Johnny tries “wax on, wax off” and “paint a fence”.
Daniel (Ralph Macchio) also did a couple of Cobra Kai techniques like knuckle pushups and walking on burning coal. The creators had planned for another scene, where Johnny blindfolds Daniel and forces him to chug a pre-training smoothie. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? However, the drink looked and tasted so disgusting that Ralph couldn’t bear it.
The justification of Ralph Macchio and Cobra Kai creator
Some actors try to run away from their mistakes, but not Ralph Macchio. “I couldn’t do it in one shot. I mean, I kept thinking of Stallone in the original Rocky film, taking the five eggs down. But I went for it — it just didn’t make it into the episode,” Ralph addressed his shortcoming.

Even Josh Heald, one of the three Cobra Kai creators and executive producers, understood the problems faced by Ralph. Josh explained why the scene wasn’t included in the final cut:
“It was supposed to be like vodka and eggs, Ralph had to drink it, and it took like an interminable amount of time for him to choke down whatever the heck the prop master made. It was like baby food in real life.”
