After consecutively playing the “emotionally wrecked, lost in her thoughts” girl, Sydney Sweeney has decided to change her genre and shift to some light-hearted roles. Recently, a new star entered her upcoming rom-com, and here is how she reacted.

Who is the new entrant in the Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell starrer?
The new person who has joined the cast of this R-rated rom-com is Alexandra Shipp. She is well-recognized for her role as Storm in the film franchise X-Men and as KT Rush in House of Anubis. She will also be appearing in Greta Gerwig’s ambitious project Barbie, which will release on July 20.
Her entry in this rom-com has spiced up the game and Sydney Sweeney has also expressed her joy. The 25-year-old took the news of Shipp’s entry to her Instagram story and commented, “Excited for you to join us.” The Euphoria star is also executive producing this film under her production house, Fifty-Fifty films.

What do we know about this upcoming rom-com?
The film will be directed by Will Gluck, known for directing superhit rom-coms like Easy A in the past. As Deadline reported, Gluck is also rewriting the script of this film, which is based on a script by Ilana Wolpert. Gluck, Joe Roth, and Jeff Kirschenbaum are also a part of the film’s production team along with the Spokane native.

The release date of the project is not finalized yet, but fans are really excited about it. However, the good news is that the production of the film might begin by the end of February.
