Millie Bobby Brown Believes That Desert Isn’t Her “Vibe” in New ‘Stranger Things’ BTS Video
The cinematic genius of Stranger Things keeps the audience hooked and coming back for more. Whether it’s the storyline, the performances, or the cinematography. In the midst of an overwhelming narrative of season 4, one thing that gets overlooked is world-building. While the town of Hawkins might be fictional, there are many real-life locations that give the show authenticity. One such location was obviously the desert. Filming in the desert might be paramount for the show, but actor Millie Bobby Brown sure had a tough time getting through the shoot.

Besides the fun on-set shenanigans, we see Brown struggling with the heat. From the constant “I’m hot” to pointing to her shirt and exclaiming, “I wanna take it off“, the British actress makes her discomfort known. She even outright says, “I don’t like working in the desert… But this is not my vibe.” Yet, her irritation doesn’t stop her from having a blast. In a cheeky moment of candor, she even addresses us through the camera. “I was twisting Helicopters with my mind. What were you doing out there?”

The cast and the production team of Stranger Things traveled far and wide to shoot many of the scenes in the latest seasons. While Georgia State was the perfect setting till season 3 to depict Hawkins, Eleven and Buyers’ family move to California this season. The storyline also travels to Russia. The production team recreated 1980s South California in new Mexico and used Lithuania to portray Russia.
Production Designer of the show, Chris Trujillo, discussed the various locations in an interview with Conde Nast Traveler. He specifically described the desert, saying, “this special extended tour of all the different flavors of New Mexican desert was incredible. I was most surprised by how much variation there is. There’s everything from these white sands to stark yellows and tans.”
