Meghan Markle had a tough time coping up with the British culture, heritage, and accent following her royal wedding with Prince Harry in May 2018. The Duchess had little to no knowledge about the United Kingdom. The same was reflected in July 2016 when she failed the Britishness test while interacting with the UK Network Youtube channel.

Meanwhile, a few days back, in one of her podcasts, Meghan Markle also revealed how she had a crazy time preparing for the British Citizenship exam. She never took the exam as in January 2020, the Sussexes relocated to California. Since the beginning of her relationship with Prince Harry, Markle has been criticized in Britain for her lack of knowledge about the royal protocols and the country in general. The former actress again gave a chance to the trollers by attempting the British accent in the tenth episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes. 

Meghan Markle fails to ace the British accent

Archetypes‘ tenth episode titled The Audacity of the Activist with Jameela Jamil & Shohreh Aghdashloo went live on November 15. Since Jamil is a British actor, Meghan Markle decided to welcome her guest with a similar accent. The 36-year-old started the conversation with Markle by saying, “You alright, babe? Hello?”. To this, the Suits alum replied, “Ello. Hello, my friend. How are you doing?”

Notably, Ello is a Britisher’s way of saying hello due to their accent. As per the people, Meghan Markle terribly failed in acing the British accent and they requested her to never try the accent again. Meanwhile, along with the greetings, a laughing sound was also heard, which resulted in the people guessing that the Sussex royal was making fun of the accent as mentioned by the New York Post. 

This is not the first time that Markle has faced bashing for her weird British accent. Way back in 2018, during her trip with Queen Elizabeth II, the Duchess sounded different in her speech as it looked like she was trying to get accustomed to the British way of speaking.
