One Piece shares a video on the birthday of Luffy

A number of the Straw Hat Pirates, including Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, have been cast for the upcoming Netflix series with Godoy.

The official Twitter account for One Piece has a video of the young actor who will play Luffy. They are celebrating the Straw Hat Captain’s birthday and offering fans a taste of what his take on the beloved Shonen hero would be.

In the video, Godoy urges fans of the character to post videos of their wildest dreams. Luffy is essentially a dreamer. The actor says the same in the video. So it makes sense for them to celebrate his ability to dream and achieve big on this special day.

What’s happening with the live-action adaptation?

Netflix is yet to announce a premiere date for the show. While fans have expressed concerns about the series’ long-term viability following the demise of Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop. 

Despite the fact that the live-action version of Cowboy Bebop was shelved after one season. The streaming service is pressing forward with live-action adaptations of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Mobile Suit: Gundam, and Yu Yu Hakusho, to name a few.
