Netflix has a new popular movie rising up its ranks – The Man from Toronto. The wacky action comedy teams up Woody Harrelson and Kevin Hart in the lead roles. Patrick Hughes directs the movie with a paper-thin plot but incredible chemistry between the two leads. But does that make it a watchable flick? Find out what the fans are saying.

The Man from Toronto on Netflix plot

Teddy (Hart) wants to become an online fitness guru, but of course, nobody watches his low-budget, uninspiring content. He is married to Lori and plans to take her on a vacation for her birthday to Onancock, Virginia. There, he lands at Airbnb, where he’s mistaken for an assassin simply called The Man From Toronto. Shortly after, the real assassin (Harrelson) shows up as well and of course, hilarity ensues.

What are critics’ saying?

Despite sticking out in the #1 spot, the movie has 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score stands at 49%. It has garnered only a 5.7 rating on IMDb as well.

According to Decider, “STREAM IT. No! Don’t send The Man from Toronto on Netflix back to Canada! Invite him over for dinner! Just don’t expect any scintillating intellectual conversation.”

Whereas, Firstpost writes: “The Man From Toronto draws reason to create a plot from an identity goof-up that lets an idiot become an assassin — that too with the official nod of the US government. Once you have glossed over the lunacy of the idea, the film is your assembly-line action-comedy that taps into the contrasting image traits of Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson in a bid to set up odd-couple chemistry, which gives the screenplay its best bits through a runtime of around 110 minutes.”
