Months into the wait for Stranger Things Season 5, fans are ready to take up any clue of what it is going to be like at this point. And if the Duffer Brothers are known for anything other than creating the greatest Netflix series of all time, it is giving fans what they want. Or in some cases more than what they want. While the brothers were at the Tudum theaters, they gave fans a rough picture of what the upcoming season of Stranger Things is going to be like.
If there is one thing Stranger Things fans are sure of and are excitedly expecting, it is more 80s pop culture references. How did the Duffer Brothers almost spoil Stranger Things Season 5?
Four seasons and 13 Emmy nominations later, we have all established the fact that the Duffer Brothers are the antonym of their names. The well-built plot, layered characters, and carefully placed 80s pop references are not something just anyone can pull off.
Speaking of the raved-about vintage pop culture references in the Netflix series and on whether season 5 will have new ones, Shawn Levy said that more than the pop references it is going to be about the people. Furthermore, the Duffer brothers said that “It’s got a little bit of everything“.
Given that it is the finale, the Brothers have their focus on completing the character arcs of all the Stranger Things characters that we have grown so fond of.

The brothers also confirmed that “scale-wise, it’s more aligned with what 4 is” as reported by Matt Grobar. The panel, which consisted of the Duffer brothers, Shawn Levy, Caleb McLaughlin, Priah Ferguson, Millie Bobby Brown, Joseph Quinn, Eduardo Franco, and Jamie Campbell Bower, did not give out any more spoilers.
As for progress, the first episode of Stranger Things is titled Chapter One: The Crawl is already in the hands of the streaming giant. But with filming likely to start sometime in 2023, there is still a long way to go.
