“It’d be fun to have the conversation”- Is Henry Cavill Still Holding Out Hope for the Next James Bond?
“Martini. Shaken not stirred!” Over the years, the cinematic world has seen a plethora of actors deliver this iconic line while embodying the formidable James Bond. From Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan and, most recently, Daniel Craig, many dashing gentlemen brought the Ian Fleming character to life. Even since Craig bid adieu to the franchise after No Time to Die, the internet is full of chatter speculating about who would be the next Bond. One of the top choices has always been Superman himself, Henry Cavill.
Even back in 2000, the creators of the Bond films had considered The Witcher actor as Agent 007. Allegedly, Cavill lost to Daniel Craig by a tiny margin. Now that he has reprised his role as the Man of Steel, is the British actor still interested in playing the eminent character?

Henry Cavill subtly expresses his desire to portray James Bond
About a week ago, Henry Cavill was a guest star in Josh Horowitz’s popular podcast, Happy Sand Confuse. Among his newest release Enola Homes 2, the actor spoke about a wide variety of topics from his previous roles and his future projects. Unsurprisingly, they also discussed James Bond.
As per reports, Mike G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the makers of Bond are looking to recruit an actor in their thirties, as the host pointed that out, Cavill (39), jokingly replied, saying, “Yeah, I’m quite busy now.” Looks like Cavill is “playing hard to get.” Nevertheless, he also dropped a subtle yet major hint he would still like to be in the running.
“I love those guys, Barbara and Mike… Whether I’m considered for the role or not, I don’t know. But, it’d be fun to have the conversation, for sure,” admitted the Mission Impossible: Fallout star.

To be fair, Cavill might not be lying about his busy schedule. While his involvement with Black Adam was just a cameo, there is a lot in store for the son of Krypton. Additionally, the actor also has two other projects in the spycraft genre lined up; one is Argylle, and the other is Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. However, The Witcher actor still has a soft corner for the Bond franchise and its makers even if he does not get the role.
“I just want to see what they do with it next, because I think they’re amazing,” stated Cavill.
