Dave Chappelle recalls his first interaction with Kanye West
Back in 2014, Dave Chappelle appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about his first time meeting the 808’s & Heartbreaks rapper. Interestingly, West first performed on TV on Dave Chappelle’s show. The comedian revealed how he did not know the rapper until he performed on his show. Praising the rapper, Chapelle added how one could tell that West would be a star.
He revealed how his friends advised him to book West for his show. Chapelle compared the Donda Sports owner to the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. Describing his first encounter with the rapper, the TV show host spoke, “It was like Muhammad Ali in Olympic Village, he just knew he was gonna get the gold.”

Interestingly, this happened the same day Jay-Z released his album, Black. Chappelle revealed a hilarious incident of the rapper when they were playing Jay’s album along with Common and Talib Kweli. While listening to the album, the only time Kanye spoke was when he wanted to replay the verse where Jay-Z rapped, ‘Kanyeezy, you’s a genius. You did it again!'”

As of late, West finds himself in hot water with Adidas over Yeezy designs. Furthermore, the rapper recently got a copyright lawsuit over his song ‘Life of the Party.’ Meanwhile, his divorce with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, nearly finalized with the financial papers turned in from both ends.
