Did you ever want to build something fun, quirky, and pointless when you were a kid but didn’t know how? Netflix, with the help of designer and video producer Jimmy DiResta, has created a new show called Making Fun. With this entertaining show, some of our silly imaginations are finally coming true. Making Fun, which just landed on Netflix on 4th March, follows expert artists and creatives as they turn children’s strangest and wildest ideas into reality.

Netflix decided to harness children’s raw, creative, and wild energy into a new reality TV show to see what adults can come up with from their fanciful imaginations. It’s an entertaining series that combines design, architecture, engineering, and woodworking elements. There are six episodes totaling just under 40 minutes, and each one has something unique and amazing to offer. Watch the trailer here.

Is Making Fun scripted

The distinguishing feature of Making Fun is that various kids pitch their ideas to the experienced makers, who then decide whether or not to make what the kids have requested. Although the series does not intend to be scripted, a high-performing show must have some stability. That doesn’t mean the show loses its authenticity. For example, they may shoot a few sequences multiple times to ensure that they completed correctly all technical aspects of filming.

Aside from the creativity, the witty banter between Jimmy and his friends is another aspect that contributes to the show’s enjoyment. Their interaction appears to be more natural which comes with familiarity. However, it’s probable that the show’s humor quotient has been significantly boosted in order to keep things interesting. Even though these individuals are experts in their fields, it is possible that they receive help from the production team.
