It seems that Netflix is taking its strategy of experimenting with new content quite seriously this year, as we see the streaming giant has been bringing back-to-back new shows and movies for subscribers. Adding another masterpiece into the line of deadly anti-war films, Netflix dropped the trailer of All Quite on the Western Front on Wednesday. The first look of the movie has left viewers terrified as it seems to break the notions of glorious wars and bring the ugly truth on screen. The teaser states that “Death is not an adventure” and so it is gonna be horrifying for fans. Is the movie based on real events or is it fiction? Do you know what damage wars do to human life?

Netflix is bringing true experiences of war with All Quite on the Western Front

Based on the novel by Erich Maria Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front follows the perspective of a young German soldier. The Netflix movie describes the real-life experience of the author, a German veteran of World War I. The novel became a sensation selling 2.5 million copies in 22 languages in its first 18 months in print, as he exposed the truth about the extremities of a war zone to the readers.

The movie takes the same path staging all the brutality of WWI through the eyes of a 17-year-old German soldier Paul Bäumer. Moreover, it dives into the dream of fighting for one’s country and dying death of a hero. Subsequently, it fades soon when Paul and his comrades step into the front where only constant death and havoc surround.

According to Tudum, this literary classic will change the perspective of people toward war and play the darker side. “Our view of war is dominated by sorrow and shame, by devastation and guilt. The emblematic cast of the movie includes Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, and Aaron Hilmer among others. The movie is set to release in German theatres on September 29 and will hit Netflix after one month on October 28.
