We just can’t have enough of Ozark sensation Ruth Langmore aka Julia Garner, can we? Well, the streaming giant understands it really well. That is the reason we will be getting more of Julia’s content really soon! We already have a limited series titled Inventing Anna coming to Netflix. The series is already a talk of the ton; one major reason for that is the peculiar accent Julia pulled off in this series.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Julia talked about how difficult it was to work with that accent. She talked about how it might be the hardest accent she had ever done. Here is what she has to say about the entire experience of handling the rather hybrid accent of the real Anna Delvey.

Julia Garner on her European-American accent in the Netflix Thriller

While talking to the host, Jimmy Fallon, Julia opened up about the very noticeable accent of hers in the Netflix Original. She talked about how Anna’s accent is a mixture of various accents, also stating that ” [it is] probably the hardest accent I’ve ever done.”

“This is a girl who is saying that she’s German, but she’s really Russian, so she’s not gonna have a Russian accent,” said Garner, drifting into her accent as she spoke. “So first I had to do like a European, like a German accent, right, you know? But it’s very subtle, it’s like, you know, have a vocal fry at the end of it, whatever, right? And then you know I had to add, like some little Russian for certain words, it was a very bad Russian accent. And then it gets Americanised because you know how Americans kind of add a question at the end of everything; like, you know what I mean? Like, Europeans don’t do that, right?”

Garner also spoke about how she was questioned by Delvey herself. According to her, Garner’s portrayal of her “got really meta.”

When is Inventing Anna releasing on Netflix?

The official release date for Inventing Anna is February 11, 2022. So, you better plan your schedule accordingly.
