Arnold Schwarzenegger is widely famous for his tough-guy roles. Apart from his Terminator film franchise, he is widely recognized for his project with Academy Award-winning director James Cameron. The 75-year-old did a film called True Lies with the Canadian filmmaker, in which recent Oscar nominee Jamie Lee Curtis appeared opposite him.

The film was a tremendous success and skyrocketed the careers of both Schwarzenegger and Curtis. However, in November 2022, the actress revealed that initially, the former bodybuilder was uncomfortable with her starring opposite him in the film. And the actress has multiple reasons for those, one being that she does not consider herself a traditional kind of beauty.

As per Vulture, the 64-year-old actress said, “I’m not a traditional beauty. I’m not a traditional leading woman. I think he thought maybe there was a better person out there.” Surprisingly, she thinks that she would agree with Schwarzenegger if he had this notion and would have done the same thing if she were in his place.

She spoke about it at her famous handprint ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood last year. But there is another reason speculated by the actress behind the unwillingness of the former Mr. Olympia to do the film with her, and it is shocking.

Curtis’ father was the reason behind the reluctance of Arnold Schwarzenegger

As weird as it sounds, the fact is absolutely actual. Jamie Lee is the daughter of famous actors, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She mentioned that Schwarzenegger was a huge admirer of Tony Curtis, and respected him way too much to romance his daughter, even in the film.

However, it seems destiny wanted Everything Everywhere All At Once actress to do the role. After her rejection, the role went to several actresses but ultimately came back to her. Schwarzenegger thought of Curtis as Tony Curtis’ little girl as he worked with the latter in the film Christmas in Connecticut in 1992. 

The former governor of California anyhow did the film with her, which turned out to be a massive success. He is so possessive of her that when people refer to her as a supporting actress in True Lies instead of the lead; it pisses off Schwarzenegger.
