Fan theories are an essential part of any show. As soon as new updates are revealed, fans immediately give their theories for the latest seasons. While some of them are far-fetched, some are so accurate and on the point that even the writers need to acknowledge the brilliance of the fans. And that is precisely what happened with Stranger Things season 4 theories.
Recently, show creators Matt and Ross Duffer have broken their silence on fan theories for Stranger Things season 4. And it looks like fans gave scored a big one!
Stranger Things season 4 theories might be true
Stranger Things started streaming on Netflix in 2016, with subsequent seasons 2 and 3 airing in 2017 and 2019. This February, Netflix announced that the show will reach its end in the fifth season and that this year’s fourth season will have two parts. Volume 1 will release on May 27, while Volume 2 will start streaming on July 1.
A series of posters, images, and episode titles released by Netflix followed soon.
However, sharper than Sherlock, fans of the show started brewing up theories for the show, which got immense popularity on the internet. And now, apparently, these theories have reached to show creators Matt and Ross.
While talking to Krista Smith from Netflix, the show creators admitted that many of the theorists have actually come really close and applauded them.
“I’m constantly impressed with how sharp the fans are and how quickly they’re able to put something together with very, very little information,” he said while calling the theories “startlingly accurate.”
Stranger Things shifting tones now
We all love Stranger Things for the nostalgic trip of the 80s and how it reminded us of films like The Goonies and E.T. the Extraterrestrial. However, co-creator of the show Ross Duffer recently said that the vibe of the previous season will not be continuing in the fourth.
The reason for this change in the tone of the show, according to Ross, is because the kids have grown now. “We’re leaning much harder into that horror movie territory that we love. It was fun to make that change,” he said.
It will be interesting to see how the creators and director Shawn Levy will manage this new genre that the show has adopted. Either way, we are too excited for the newest season to drop.
