The hip-hop industry is perhaps one of the most competitive and popular industries there is in the world of music. Over the years, fans have witnessed a plethora of rappers go back and forth against each other. From releasing diss tracks to taking indirect jibes at their rivals, the hip-hop industry is indeed full of controversies. And when we talk about rap rivalries, one cannot not mention Kanye West and Drake. Certainly, two of the biggest rappers in the industry have had a beef for years now. Owing to their complex relationship, it is hard to imagine the two speaking well about each other. However, a few years ago, Drake was all praises for the ‘Flashing Lights’ hitmaker.

As we all know, Kanye West’s impact on the hip-hop industry has been huge. The ‘Heartless’ star has inspired a plethora of rappers in the industry. Furthermore, various iconic rappers also credited Ye for having a tremendous influence on their music careers. Amongst such is Drake, who previously revealed that Ye would top the list of his favorite artists. In an interview with Rap Radar in 2019, the ‘Hotline Bling‘ hitmaker revealed, “I would say Kanye West would be my favorite artist all around, and that’s just facts.” The rapper further added that he was always willing to give Ye love, irrespective of the controversies the two shared. However, Drake also shed some light on the relationship the two have shared over the years.

The ‘Fair Trade‘ singer admitted that things have changed between him and West. Drake added, “I am not just some kid who is a fan anymore. Now we have personal situations.” Elsewhere in the interview, Drake confessed how his beef with Ye also resulted in him cutting ties with Pusha-T. The rapper called Ye the “stem” of all his problems with the ‘Mercy’ singer.

Have Drake and Kanye West mended their ties now?

Not long ago, we saw Kanye West and Drake come together for the first time after squashing their years-long feud. The duo posed for a picture alongside J Prince at Drake’s Toronto Mansion. As per various reports, it was music boss Prince who had a huge role in bringing the two together. The duo even performed alongside each other for a concert held for Larry Hoover.

However, despite officially announcing the end of their infamous feud, Drake previously took an indirect dig at Ye on his latest album ‘Her Loss.’ Over the years, both Drake and Ye have given innumerable memorable songs. And, it would be a treat for hip-hop fans if the duo collaborate yet again in the future.
