Every generation has gotten teenage pop stars who have been their voice and have influenced the generation in some ways. Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodriguez are two of the most popular teenage pop stars of today that are arguably the voice of today’s young generation. 

Eilish broke out on the scene in 2015 with Ocean Eyes and her career has only seen highs since then. She quickly became an icon of body positivity with her baggy clothes, rebellious attitude, and her statement-making hair colors. But when she suddenly did a 180 and transformed herself into a target of criticism and backlash. Back in 2021, the Bad Guy singer talked at length about her views on body positivity and the stronghold of patriarchy over women with Vogue.

Billie Eilish lambasted men for being weak 

During her chat with Vogue, she gave a piece of her mind to the haters that were targeting her for changing her wardrobe. Billie Eilish swapped her jet-black hair with green highlights for a blonde bombshell look in 2021. Out went her baggy clothes and in came laces, satin, and corsets.

She expressed that it was wrong for others to tear down a woman for dressing scantily. She considered it hypocritical. A woman’s wardrobe does not determine whether she is easy or not and is in no way an excuse for disrespecting her. The Happier Than Ever crooner did not mince her words while criticizing the widespread notion that women ask for harassment when they show skin.

“I really think the bottom line is, men are very weak, I think it’s just so easy for them to lose it!” she said. She admired Meghan Thee Stallion for her work and her stance against body shaming.  Well, Eilish has never shied away from talking about sensitive topics. The 20-year-old now is very much happy in her new relationship with Jesse Rutherford. She continues to push boundaries with her songs and her style picks.
