To portray a character who has a different native accent, the actor has to adapt to the original accent of the character. While portraying Superman in Man of Steel, Henry Cavill successfully adapted to the American accent. However, portraying another character in another film became a challenge for the British actor. Once, the actor spoke about how challenging it was for him to adapt to the American accent.

The Witcher actor had to face a lot of difficulties while portraying Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The director of the film, Guy Ritchie had a specific demand from Cavill. Ritchie wanted the British actor to speak in the American accent but not like Clark Gable. Gable was famous for his distinctive voice quality. He wanted something unique from Cavill. Therefore, the 39-year-old actor sat down with their dialect coach, Andrew Jack. “I think the hardest thing for me was the accent,” said Cavill during his interview with FlavourMag.

Although the Superman actor has skills and does anything that he puts his mind to. Therefore, because Ritchie had a specific version of the accent in his mind, Cavill worked even harder to satisfy the director and justify the character. However, despite working extremely harder to get the accent right, the actor had to face adversities afterward.

What adversities did Henry Cavill face after completing the filming?

The English actor has built his career on the basis of his authentic portrayal of the characters. Therefore, whenever whatever he does, he does it with everything that needs to be done. Thus, after putting in a lot of effort to adopt the American accent, he could not switch it back easily. Cavill had to work hard to switch back to his natural and original accent.

When he would talk to his girlfriend, he could not speak in a British accent. However, with a little more effort, the actor could switch it back and come back to normal. Although fans will see their favorite actor portraying the character of the CIA agent once again. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. got a green light for the sequel.
