“I don’t have income to…” – When Sydney Sweeney Got Honest About Her Bills and Hollywood Showbiz
Hollywood promises money and a luxurious lifestyle. While that may be true for the bigwigs, it is not the same for the struggling actors. Often these up-and-coming starving actors have to work years until they bag a role that puts them on everyone’s radar. Sydney Sweeney is just one of the prime examples.
With no Godfather in the business, the 25-year-old had to make it on her own. Working her butt off, it would take her years before she would land roles on premium cable network shows. 2022 was the year she shined the most, and bagged two Emmy nominations for her role in The White Lotus and Euphoria. “If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don’t have the income to cover that,” the actress revealed last year. She had to continue packing her schedule with as many projects as she could because she needed to pay her bills.

Giving a glimpse into the pay structure of Hollywood, she revealed that actors did not make as much as they used to. The pay had definitely dwindled since streamers entered the game. Apart from the established stars, actors did not get residuals anymore. Sydney Sweeney had to pay ten percent to her agents, five percent to her lawyers, and three percent to her business manager.
For a budding actress like Sweeney, in order to capitalize on her momentum, it was essential to stay in the news and stay relevant in this internet generation. Press-related activities included hair, makeup, and styling, which put more strain on her finances. To afford her lifestyle in L.A., the Euphoria star had to turn to brand deals like Miu Miu, Armani, and Laneige. And after nearly 5 years, she finally bought herself a place in LA.
