The couple, Deepti and Shake, got engaged in the pod and went for a luxurious honeymoon in Mexico. But on the wedding day, she chose not say “I do”. As she rejected Shake, she said, she wishes to choose herself before choosing someone else, giving us ultimate self-love goals. With these quotations, she instantly became fans’ favorite contestant from Love is Blind. We know from the beginning of the show, Shake was not the perfect man for Deepti. He criticized her body and personality at any given opportunity.

Deepti shares her expression after Shake’s apology

On March 11th, 2022, Love is Blind season 2 contestant Deepti shared her thoughts on Shake, her ex-fiancé, who has said some harsh things about her physical appearance while they were engaged in the dating show.

After the reunion special of Love is Blind, Shake shared a clip of him, apologizing to Deepti for his behavior. He said, “I’m so, so sorry that I hurt you with my words. It’s the last thing I want from all this.” While every contestant has some flaws or the other, but for Shake’s flaws, he received the most amount of hate post the show’s release.

In an interview with PEOPLE’s Every Day podcast, Deepti shares her views on Shake’s apology. She explains that she didn’t take Shake’s criticism by heart. She said, “I don’t fault Shake for not finding me physically attractive or having that chemistry. Like, you can’t really fault someone for that. If you have a connection, you have a connection. If not, at least we built a friendship and a bond.” 

She further added Shake is not the physical type that she normally goes for. She says, “I had reservations also. It’s not like it was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so confident in that this is going to be it.’” 

After all this, Deepti was still willing to give their relationship a shot due to the connection they build on the show. Well, suffice to say, that ship has long since sailed, and we all stand Deepti for it.
