“I am officially impressed” – When Henry Cavill Gave His Badge of Approval to His ‘Mission Impossible’ Co-star Tom Cruise
Save Tom Cruise, Hollywood could not produce another action hero that not only commanded the screen but also had worldwide acclaim for many years. Until, of course, Henry Cavill came along. Starting out in a period drama, The Tudors, the actor quickly gained fame for his impressive physique and looks. But he quickly proved that he isn’t just a pretty face. He quickly grew into an action star with his roles in Man of Steel, The Man from U.N.C.LE, and Mission Impossible: Fallout. However, after he worked with the senior action star, he realized why he was the OG.
Henry Cavill was touring with his Mission Impossible: Fallout stars to promote the film in 2018. During an interview with E! News, the Brit revealed his thoughts about the veteran star. He admitted that he was not easily impressed. However, when he saw Tom’s dedication to his craft and his doing all the dangerous students without a double, it just left a big impression on him. He realized that the 60-year-old had set a bar too high.

It is not news that Cruise can fly. He expertly maneuvered the helicopter in the mountains during the last fight scene. That scene especially left the 39-year-old stunned. “Watching Tom do these stunts, especially in the mountains in that helicopter. I just thought, ‘Okay I am officially impressed,'” Cavill shared in his interview with E! News.
The Top Gun star goes the extra mile to learn all the new skills. He takes lessons and courses for months to prepare for the role. And this has made the younger actor respect him even more. “And he learns all these skills for these movies and does them to an elite level. It is remarkable, truly remarkable,” he added.
