Over the years, Hollywood has witnessed countless actors come and go. However, only a handful of them have been able to reach the heights and success of Kick-Ass. The Man of Steel star is among the most popular and successful actors in the industry. Every director wants to cast a British actor in their movie. Henry Cavill, on the other hand, has expressed interest playing in a particular role for a long time.

Time and again, the Enola Holmes star has opened up about his intention to take over the 007 mantle for a long time. And as we all know, the race for the next James Bond has been going on for quite some time now. Even though Cavil is the fan favorite contender, the new criteria for the role might just kick the actor out of the 007 race.

Henry Cavill might no longer be a contender for the next 007

The race for the next 007 is yet to conclude and fans have been eager to see which actor will take up the mantle. While many actors have been considered for the role, Cavill remains to be the fan favorite. However, there might be some disappointing news for the Cavill fans. Barbara Broccoli, the producer of James Bond, previously revealed that the franchise is planning to “reinvent” the iconic character. According to Deadline, the requirements for the next 007 are clear: a British actor below the age of 40 and should not be taller than 5’10.

While Cavill perfectly fits the ethnic requirement, the other two rules clearly out the Man of Steel star out of the race. Cavill will celebrate his 40th birthday on May 5, 2023. On the other hand, the Enola Holmes star stands tall at 1.85m or 6’1. Furthermore, there are no updates on when the production will commence. Considering the actor’s 40th birthday is not far away, the actor is slowly ageing out of the race.

Who might be the next James Bond?

Apart from Henry Cavill, there have been a number of other British actors who might take up the mantle. Peaky Blinders fame Tom Hardy is also a contender for the role. However, the age requirement rules him out from the 007 race as well.

Furthermore, the Kick-Ass star Aaron-Taylor Johnson is another actor in the run. Interestingly, the actor is 32 years old. However, Johnson falls short in the height requirement. Meanwhile, recent reports from Koimoi suggest that Johnson did a screen test.
