How Henry Cavill could return to the series with David Fincher’s prequel of China town

While WB’s door may have closed for Henry Cavill for good, he could return to Netflix with another series. As per giantfreakinrobot, Cavill is talking with Fincher about making a prequel series on Netflix. The original movie was made in 1974 starring Faye Dunaway and Jack Nicholson. We can expect to see Cavill recreating the lead role of J.J. Gittes, donning a coat and a hat. If the role is confirmed, it would be a major step ahead for the project. In an attempt to stay as close to the original as possible,  Robert Townes will be returning to write the prequel as well.

The original movie was based in the 20th century, revolving around the water right in South Carolina, leading to the eventual formation of Los Angles. Gittes is hired by a woman to find out whether her husband is cheating on her, but the journey takes him on a path that will expose corruption, deceit, and murder. As for Henry Cavill’s prequel, it may focus on the adventures of the detective from before these events or be connected to the story.
