Henry Cavill Axed, Jacob Elordi Denied, James Gunn Is Still Unsure About Superman Future but Fans Feel He Is Not
2022 was a rollercoaster of a year for Henry Cavill. The British actor bid farewell to two of the biggest roles he has starred in. Ever since the change in management of DCEU, the franchise has been going through a tough time. The studio axed the crown jewel of DC AKA Henry Cavill’s Superman, leaving the DC fandom in shock with many demanding Gunn to step down.
As of late, Gunn has been going all in rebuilding the entire DCEU. And amidst such chaos and confusion, fans are eager to know what the future holds for DC and especially Superman. While the Suicide Squad director is yet to reveal what direction the franchise is headed towards, does Gunn already have a plan for Clark Kent’s future?

Did James Gunn just reveal what the future for Superman looks like after Henry Cavill?
The past few weeks have left the DC fandom in a state of total confusion. Despite several upcoming projects put on-hold and big names leaving the franchise, it seems like Gunn already has some plans, especially for the franchise’s most popular character Superman. Previously, rumors that Gunn will give a new beginning to Clark Kent were making the rounds. And following Gunn’s latest tweet, fans feel the director has already revealed the comic on which he will base his new Clark Kent timeline on.
Recently, the Suicide Squad posted a picture of his coffee along with some comics on Twitter. Gunn wrote, “The secret to happiness is starting the morning with coffee and comic books.” Interestingly, among the pile of comic books was Deluxe Edition of the All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant.
Furthermore, to make matters more exciting, the Peacemaker director had a peculiar fan interaction following his tweet. A fan asked Gunn whether he had read the All star Superman edition comic book before or if it was his first time. In response to the fan, the DC boss replied, “I’ve read it many, many times.”

What is the All star Superman edition all about?
The comic All-Star Superman, first published in 2005, revolves around the end of Superman’s life. The series follows the slow death of the Man of Steel due to over exposure of the sun. Furthermore, it takes the audience through many of Superman’s heroic feats. However, there is no confirmation on whether the new Clark Kent story would base upon the All-star Superman comic.

Even though Gunn supposedly dropped a hint about the future, only time will tell how Gunn will take forward Superman’s story. Previously, Gunn even debunked the rumors of casting Jacob Elordi as the new Clark Kent. While, the fans are extremely upset over Gunn’s decision, another theory suggests that Gunn axing out Cavill and the Snyderverse is actually for the good.
