Ever since Netflix nabbed the rights to Heart of Stone, not much was revealed about the cast or even the plot. Gal Gadot was the only confirmed female lead and now the star has updated her fans on Twitter. She officially announced the development for the movie has commenced and also did a major reveal for her character. Gal will be playing Rachel Stone in the Netflix project.

What is Heart of Stone about?

The creators have kept the plot of the show under wraps. But there is no denying that it’s a big-budget movie with Gal Gadot in the front line. The international spy action movie will be directed by Tom Harper. The man behind such movies as The Aeronauts and shows like Peaky Blinders. Greg Ruck and Allison Schroeder wrote the script. The latter has been Oscar-nominated for her work in Hidden  Figures. Skydance Media production and Gal Gadot will be producing the movie in collaboration. Previously, Skydance has been associated with movies like Mission Impossible: Fallout, Top Gun: Maverick, etc. 

The cast of Heart of Stone

Gal Gadot, mainly known for her role as Wonder Woman in the DCEU, will assume the leading role. Her recent project, Death on The Nile, received positive responses. This is not Gal’s first collaboration with Netflix. The actress has previously starred in Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. Upon its release, Red Notice was the most-streamed movie on the platform. 

Joining her will be Fifty Shades of Grey’s fame, Jamie Dornan. He won several accolades for his role in Kenneth Branagh’s movie, Belfast. In a recent breaking news article, Deadline announced that Bollywood’s biggest actress, Alia Bhatt will also join the cast. 

When will the movie arrive on Netflix? 

With the movie already in development, it may take a while for the flick to arrive on the streaming platform. With such a star-studded cast, the availability of the stars for shooting might cause delays in filming. However, since the filming has already commenced, we can hope for it to arrive in 2023. Filming is taking place at the Shepperton Studios in the UK.
