Will Smith was busy working on his clean lyrics as he made a name for himself outside of Philadelphia. That is when Andy and Susan Borowitz saw in him the potential to create what would go on to become the most loved sitcom with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Despite the long run, the viewers were surprised when the makers decided to call it quits. Such was the impact of Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. In 2022, the actor decided to bring the same success to the Bel-Air creators.

After the unfortunate Oscar slap in 2022, people mostly stared at one another when it came to supporting Will Smith. Especially those in the industry. However, mass support came from creators that the I Am Legend actor had previously worked with. And the Bel-Air creators were not one to shy away from defending their superstar.

The series, although far from the level of iconic that the original managed to attain, still garnered good reviews and greater popularity. However, it was not the popularity but the personality that Will Smith carried day in and day out as a producer that pushed two of the series creators to stand in support of the actor. “That was a very human moment that took place [at the Oscars], but human moments happen — nobody’s perfect, and it’s important not to be judgmental,” Morgan Cooper, Bel Air creator, told Yahoo! Entertainment.

Morgan Cooper, who is actually a fresh prince in the industry, demonstrated courage in his stand for Will Smith. This comes when the masses have chosen to hate anyone who supports and associates with the actor following the Oscar slap.
