Normal people are moving ahead with their lives, but here we are, Stranger Things fandom, thinking about how to save Will Byers from something worse than Vecna. There have been certain instances in Stranger Things 4 that were totally bizarre and horrible. However, the one thing more horrible than Vecna was stuck with Will from the beginning of the show. Let’s figure out what it was.

Will Byers’ biggest concern wasn’t Vecna but something else

Ever since the show’s beginning, Will Byers was seen struggling with various dreadful issues. Starting from his sudden disappearance into the Upside Down to throwing up a tadpole of a Demogorgon, he has been through a lot. But the real monster wasn’t Vecna but someone else.

Will’s hair was all cute and funny until the Duffer Brothers decided to put it above his ears in season 4. Fans have been lamenting about the same since the beginning of season 3, when they all were almost teenagers. Furthermore, it only got worse in season 4, where “Will the wise” is way too grown up for that haircut. Will Byres has always been a subtle and decent character of the show. He’s pretty much a sweet-spoken and gentle yet enthusiastic guy. This ridiculously funny haircut certainly doesn’t do justice to his subtle character.

The Duffer Brothers on Noah Schnapp haircut

In a talk show before they dropped the final volume of Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp told us how he had been begging the directors for a change in his character’s haircut. “There’s one more season left, but they’re pretty loyal to the cut. I think it is a true kind of ‘80s classic haircut. So I don’t think we’re gonna lose it anytime soon.” said Schnapp.

According to Schnapp, Duffers find it “of the times,” and no matter how hilarious it seems, it actually gives him a different and unique look from everyone else in the show. It brings in the typical fashion sense of people from the 80s and their ways.

Therefore, they insist on keeping it untouched. He has reportedly mentioned that they’re not going to change it in Stranger Things season 5 as well, but somehow we all hope they get Will rid of it ASAP!
