Maya Hawke fans express their disappointment with Netflix

Recently, a Twitter fan account for the Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke accused Netflix of inequality. According to fans, the streamer has not boosted Hawke’s soon-to-be premiered film Do Revenge. They believe Netflix is purposely snubbing the movie, as it is “a queer piece of media.

The fan account took it upon themselves to promote the film and at the same time called out the streaming goliath for unequal treatment of their content. Given that Do Revenge is set to premiere on September 16, the audience is livid, as many did not even know of its existence. “We need to protect queer media,” posted the dejected fan.

Some like-minded Twitter users also pointed out the hypocrisy, as Netflix doesn’t hesitate at all to promote its flagship shows, also starring the same actors. Camila Mendes plays Veronica in Riverdale, while Hawke portrays the role of Robin on Stranger Things. Fans even wonder if the platform has something against Women loving Women (WLW) AKA “Sapphics” content. They feel that the platform only promotes queer pieces “when it’s MLM (Men Loving Men)”

Luckily, they decided to support and promote the queer pieces until the streamer does justice to them by marketing them the right way.
