Things to know about Bode
After their father’s death, Bode and his family relocate to Matheson, where he quickly becomes fascinated by the historic mansion and its surrounding estate. Keyhouse estate’s Well House is where he finally finds himself, and the well house is where he gets what he thinks is an echo of his own voice. Coming back to the ending of season 2, Dodge is hopefully dead. Everything is going back to normal. But the most important thing to remember is Bode helping Nina to get into her head. Bode ultimately decides to offer Nina a present after months of Nina being aware of magic and then forgetting it. To her, he hands her the Head Key and tells her that she must trust him even if she is unsure.
Her cooperation allows Bode to take her into the depths of her mind to revisit some of her most treasured moments with Rendell. Nina is perplexed, yet she expresses a wish to keep the memories forever in her heart. To honor Nina’s request, Bode employs the Memory Key to keep Nina’s memories of Rendell and magic intact. These were the things to keep in mind about Bode. Now let’s have a look at his best moments in Locke and Key.
Best instances of Bode from Locke and Key
- Well, the first and the foremost reason is that Bode is the one who found most of the keys. He even found ways how to use them without any guidance.
- Bode isn’t scared of trying new things or taking risks. As a kid, he doesn’t fear much since he doesn’t know much. His curiosity is another factor that leads to him discovering new keys.
- The first thing should be his curious nature. He questions everything he sees rather than just ignoring it. And this helps him notice those things that nobody does and ultimately save everyone. For example, in season 2, when Duncan finds Anywhere key from Kinsey’s room, and everybody is busy celebrating, Bode is the one to ask where did the key appear from nowhere.
- Bode even corrects Kinsey on her use of calling the Head key as “brainy key”. This makes him look like an annoyed professor who has to deal with a dumb kid.

- He answers in a brilliant way. Even though his siblings are way older than him, he knows how to deal with them. For instance, Tyler suddenly hides Duncan’s memories behind him when he sees Bode. But Bode is a stubborn kid who won’t sit quietly until he gets what he wants. So when he asks Tyler what’s he hiding behind his back and Tyler says “Nothing”, Bode being Bode asks him, “What’s the noting behind your back”.
- The best one is when he sees Duncan flipping off the Keyhouse; he asks him why he did so. Now Ducan can’t tell him the real thing, so he tries to avert him by saying it’s just a way of saying goodbye. In return, Bode asks him, “like aloha”. And Duncan says yes! Since then, it has become Bode’s thing to flip people off and say “aloha”.
