We are very much impressed by the exotic location of Netflix’s reality shows. For instance, Too Hot to Handle has its exotic island, The Bachelor has a mansion, Love Island has its villa, and the Survivor has a Fijian Island. Similarly, Love in Blind has its pods, which are usually small rooms with a couch and a blue wall shared by another pod.

Through the opaque walls, participants can talk their hearts out without seeing each other. And, if they feel love or a connection with the person across the wall, one of them can pop the question. Only after they are engaged can they see their face for the first time, answering the age-old question: Is love truly blind?

So, where are the Love is Blind pods located?

The show intrigued viewers, who wanted to know where these pods are located. To which the creator of the show, Chris Coelen answered, “The pods could literally be in any country, in any city, in any place in the world. The pods aren’t about the place. The pods are about an experience.”

But we didn’t want to stop there. We have a lot of questions about the pods. So, Coelen comes to the fans’ rescue to answer all their questions.

Intimate pods

To Tudum, Coelen shares the idea of pods that he and his team had from the get go. Apparently, he wanted space for couples where they can be comfortable and cozy, with no distraction from the outer world. They designed the pod in a way that the contestants can feel intimate, despite being physically apart.

Coelen wanted to give the contestant a living, breathing presence and in comes the fully opaque, blue-colored wall that separates the men and women pods. Moreover, these pods are soundproof, which means contestants can shout, scream or cry and another person wouldn’t know. This also means that contestants speak via speakers.

There are 20 pods in total, which are 12 feet by 12 feet. The pods were made in a studio set in Atlanta, called Pinewood for the first season of Love is Blind. Coelen claims the set is one of the largest in the country. He says, “Next door, they were filming one of the Marvel Avengers movies and we were on a bigger stage than Avengers was!” After season 1, the pods were stored in a storage space, which were then shipped to Santa Clarita, California for season 2.

The contestants got only 10 days to fall in love in the pod. The pod only has a couch and full stocked freezer with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. However, there is no washroom. The washroom is all the way down to the lounge area. And to avoid any of the contestants from peaking at their love interest, they are escorted back and forth the pods.

At this point, you must be wondering, where do the contestants sleep? Well, for season 1, the team had arranged trailers next to the lounge area. However, since that became inconvenient later on, the creators chose hotels rooms for season 2.
