“Depends on who’s playing Superman”- Is Henry Cavill in Dwayne Johnson’s Vision of ‘Black Adam’ vs Superman?
As strong as DC’s comic game is, the DCEU has been struggling to deliver cinematically. Time and again, fans build their hopes up only to be let down by the production house. With the hype around DC’s newest project, Black Adam, the audience has once again geared up expectations. (Spoiler Alert!) Granted, the film hasn’t had an official release yet (October 21), but a private screening in New Mexico was enough to generate buzz around the movie, especially since the rumors place Henry Cavill in the post-credit scene.
If the fan reports are true, then a Black Adam vs Superman face-off is only a matter of time. Let us see what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has to say about it.

Is Henry Cavill the Man of Steel in the imminent Black Adam-Superman combat?
Ever since the announcement of Black Adam, The Rock has been tirelessly promoting the film. He has also been more than vocal about his character’s impending run-in with the son of Krypton. In an interview with Cinemablend, Johnson was as explicit as he could be about his intention for a grand fight sequence between the two characters.
“Absolutely. That is the whole point of this, man,” stated the former WWE star.
During the unveiling of Black Adam at Comic-con, fans were more than excited to know who would emerge victorious in the impending face-off. Johnson, while not revealing much, still said enough to drive the audience straight into a speculation wormhole.
“It depends on who’s playing Superman,” said the Baywatch star.
While Henry Cavill is synonymous with Superman for our entire generation, his alleged jumping ship to the MCU had us all second-guessing.

However, now it seems like there was enough foreshadowing regarding Cavill’s involvement in the film. Johnson even posted a picture with The Witcher actor as the two enjoyed a drink and each other’s company. In fact, after his alleged cameo in Black Adam, there is also talk of Henry donning the blue and red suit for an upcoming Man of Steel 2.

Granted, there have been no confirmations regarding Cavill reprising his role, but we, as fans, still keep our hopes alive.
