“DCEU died even before it got to begin”- Artist Pays Tribute to the Zack Snyder-led Justice League Amidst Its Superhero Upheavals
James Gunn is perhaps shaking things from the core of DC Universe. And although a seemingly adventurous and Avant-Garde future awaits the superheroes of the future; fans will undoubtedly miss the Zack Snyder-led caste. It was exactly a decade from 2023 when Snyder introduced to us a stupendous team of action heroes with supernatural abilities to fly, fight like a commando, and even possess otherworldly armor to fulfill their destined quest.
However, with many changes taking place in the formerly DC Extended Universe, many of the Justice League actors are either being replaced by younger versions or are reportedly assigned a new character to play. Gunn is already scripting a Superman film, replacing Henry Cavill with a younger version. Furthermore, talks are up in the air that Jason Momoa might as well play a new DC superhero after his upcoming installation of Aquaman. It seems like the loyal fans are in awe of the OG characters, as one of them expressed their disappointment by honoring all the former DC characters in a ravishing art.

It was just some 10 years back that Snyder debuted the first Justice League movie. Both young and old had a red and blue cape, a set of Amazonian battle armor, and much more to intrigue themselves with. However, fast-forwarding to the present day, we have little to no idea where the James Gunn-led universe is headed to. But we do have a little surprise for you. One of the fans going by the Instagram handle 𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙊𝙁𝙏𝙄𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙑𝙀𝙇 honored the fan-favorite bunch of superheroes with beautiful art. Voicing the feelings of many hardcore fans, the artist perhaps rightly captioned the post, ‘DCEU died even before it got to begin.’

As you can see, the artist brought all of Synder’s characters into a single frame with Henry Cavill’s Superman taking up the center of the frame. Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman stand right next to Man of Steel, making up the DCEU Trinity. Besides them are Ezra Miller’s Flash, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and Harry Lennix’s Martian Manhunter. And now although the actors themselves are in dubiety of the future of their characters, this fan art makes us realize what the wide array of fanatics is going to miss.
