What Is the Zack Snyder Reason Behind Henry Cavill’s Return as Superman Besides Dwayne Johnson’s Advocacy

Henry Cavill is the man of the hour for many reasons. It seems just a week ago we were praising his glorious performance as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher and begging to see him in the DC cinematic universe. And now we finally have him back in the red cape but sadly no more as the yellow-eyed Geralt. Just another case of ‘being careful about what you wish for. However, Henry Cavill returning in Black Adams was not just any big comeback.

Several petitions and a six-year-long struggle by Dwayne Johnson played a huge part in all of this. Given how reluctant fans were to the idea of another actor playing Superman, Dwayne Johnson’s perseverance to bring back Henry Cavill as Superman in his anti-hero movie is very understandable. While the Black Adams lead actor has spoken of this struggle candidly in various interviews, someone else also had a huge part in Cavill’s return to the DC cinematic universe.

Fans lost all faith in Henry Cavill as Superman after seeing him in Justice League. If it weren’t for the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, we would probably never even want to see Cavill in his red cape again.

The fact that Johnson fought for six years to bring Cavill is almost as fascinating as the fact that Cavill’s scenes were shot just one month before the movie was finalized. So if Dwayne Johnson was the president of the Henry Cavill DC return alliance then Zack Snyder’s Justice League was the constitution. And it could not have happened without either of them.
