When it comes to documentaries, Netflix has a rich library filled with several documentaries of various genres, including sports documentaries. Recently, Netflix announced big news concerning a former professional soccer player, David Beckham. David is not only an athlete but also the current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. In the upcoming documentary, Beckham is going to share some of the significant stories of his career so far. This is what we know so far.

The upcoming Netflix documentary will involve not just Beckham but his entire family. The director of the series is Fisher Stevens, who is an Oscar-winning director and Emmy-winning producer John Battsek is involved to create this documentary. The documentary is going to explore David’s roots in London and his amazing career as one of the most talented and successful soccer players of all time. Netflix announced this via a Twitter post:

David feels that now is the good time to tell his story. The highs and lows, his children and his family; there are still many layers to unfold in this former athlete’s life. Well, one thing we know is that his son Romeo is just like his father on the field with fans often saying, “Like father like son”. However, David wishes to share an up close and personal look at his journey. The format of the show apparently has taken its inspiration from an ESPN documentary about the iconic Michael Jordan, The Last Dance.

The viewers will get to see remarkable access to David’s personal archives, including an unseen footage from past 40 years. There will be modern-day recollections and, of course, candid moments. The whole Beckham family will sit for an interview, as well as his friends and colleagues.
