Recently, Nielsen’s SVOD charts for September 5-11 were published, which compared shows from four different OTT platforms that exceeded a billion viewing hours in the US. Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon held the topmost position, and that lasted until the Karate Kid franchise premiered its 5th season.

Netflix’s Cobra Kai claimed the top overall spot for the week, Ring of Powers fell to the third position

Notably, as soon as Netflix’s nostalgic American sitcom debuted its newest season, it immediately knocked the Lord of the Rings prequel series off the top spot in Nielsen’s streaming rankings for the week of September 5–11. That week, Netflix’s Devil in Ohio took second place on the streaming charts, pushing The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power down to third overall. The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon from HBO Max finished in a close fourth place.

Although the Amazon Original lost its topmost spot, it still garnered a viewership time of 1.2 billion minutes. Alas, it couldn’t compete with Cobra Kai’s fifth season launch, which amassed 1.74 billion minutes of viewing time throughout its 50 episodes. Furthermore, while Devil in Ohio generated 1.38 billion viewing minutes, HBO Max’s House of The Dragonwhich fell down to 5th position, had a total screen time of 1.02 billion minutes. However, the American nostalgic series still cannot break the record of Netflix’s flagship show, Stranger Things 4, which garnered an amazing viewing time of 7 billion minutes within a week’s time.
