Chaka Khan is not happy to be on the top Greatest Singer of All Time list. But the reason for that is her position on the list. The singer whose real name is Yvette Marie Stevens is one of the living legends that still remains active on social media. But she has lashed out recently, after being unhappy over being placed below certain singers.

In an interview with LaMag, the singer was not so subtle, describing her displeasure. They ranked her at no. 29 on the list containing too 200 singers, below Adele, who was in 22nd, and Blige, who was in 25th position. While she was already upset about being placed below the first singer, the other one clearly upset her. “These must be the children of Helen Keller,” she said after adding if the list makers were blind.

Although the Queen of Funk was in agreement over Aretha Franklin topping the list, she was unsure of Mariah Carey on no. 5. The Grammy winner who celebrates 50 years of her music this year, was not even aware of the magazine’s existence until recently.

Chaka Khan is one of the most celebrated singers of the 70s who still remains a fan favorite. So when she lashed out over the list of top 200 singers, fans were in total agreement. One singer praised Steven’s ability to sing effortlessly on a higher pitch. Other fans agreed that she should be on a higher number on the list, calling her a ‘powerhouse’. One fan even posted a video of a thunderous performance that she gave at the age of 65.

This is not the first time that this list has come under scrutiny. Fans of Celine Dion protested outside the magazine’s office when they completely snubbed her from the list. The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer has unique vocal abilities, hence leaving fans upset over keeping her out. Madonna, Janet Jackson, etc are some of the hit artists that fans feel should’ve been on the list.
