It was announced yesterday that the canceled Netflix live-action Cowboy Bebop series has managed to snatch a nomination for this year’s Emmy. The series did not do well either among fans or critics. However, almost six months after the show’s release, it looks like it still has more to give.

Cowboy Bebop earns Netflix another Emmy nomination

The Emmy Awards revealed that Netflix’s live-action adaption of Cowboy Bebop had received an Emmy nomination. The series has been nominated for an Emmy in the category of Main Title Design.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards staff announced the entire list of candidates for each category, which included this nomination.

Candy, Foundation, Lisey’s Story, Only Murders in the Building, Severance, and Pachinko are among the other titles in the competition. Fans will find out which series wins later this autumn when the Emmy Awards air in September.

Indeed, Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop has an excellent title design, and its style wonderfully captures the anime’s diverse genres. However, the live-action adaption did not get widespread acclaim, something that many live-action adaptations experience.

Cowboy Bebop will not be renewed for a second season due to the show’s mixed reviews and a hefty budget. Cowboy Bebop 2021 has received only one Emmy nomination.

The live-action Cowboy Bebop premiered on Netflix in November 2021. It was quickly discontinued in December of that year. The series began with John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda, Alex Hassell, and Elana Satine.

At the same time, the original voice actors for the Japanese dub dubbed the series’ Japanese audio. The original 1998 anime of the same name was an extremely successful one.
