Speaking with The Standard Nicola Coughlan revealed how desperate she was to be a part of Barbie. During the conversation, she stated she could have done the tiniest of role even if it was for 20 seconds only. “When Greta asked if I wanted to do it, I was like, ‘if she wants me to clean the floors in the studio I’ll do it’,” shared the 36-year-old.

The Derby Girls star seemed extremely excited about this project, putting forward her views about the adaptation, starring big names like Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. The actor revealed that this film is going to win hearts as it is a complete package of laughter and emotions.

According to Coughlan, this is one of the best movies she has worked in, and she is happy to have played her part. But even before her big reveal through social media, the actress had embodied her inner-Barbie during last year’s BAFTAs.

In May 2022, Nicola Coughlan made a dramatic arrival on the red carpet of the BAFTA TV Awards. The Galway native wore a voluminous bubblegum pink gown from the Valentino collection. She looked just like a barbie out in the real world as she sported this color, which is always associated with the famous doll.
