During her appearance at the 2023 SAG Awards, Amanda Seyfried spoke exclusively with E! News about her Mean Girls audition. In the conversation, the Dropout star revealed that she was impressed with Blake Lively on their first meeting. She recalled the moment when they sat in the same room saying that the California native looked splendid.

“And I was like ‘She’s the perfect Karen.’ ‘Cause I was Regina in the room, but things happen,” explained the 37-year-old star. Gladly, the Big Love alum added that it is amazing to see how they all are living great lives and became popular through their shows.

Aside from meeting the Accepted star, Seyfried was also left star-struck by Lacey Chabert and Lindsay Lohan. Since these two were already famous at the time for their movies and television shows.

It came out as a big surprise that the actor auditioned for the role of Karen Smith at the beginning of her career. However, Blake Lively didn’t get the role and she went on to star in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and later Gossip Girl. Well, it is quite astounding that Seyfried who was trying out for Regina George got to play this character since the creators thought she was perfect for it.

Karen Smith is one of the lead characters and kindest members of the clique known as The Plastics. She is a beautiful bubbly teenager who does not insult other people like her friends Gretchen and Regina.
