The Witcher was one of the most popular shows when it first made its way to Netflix. The sci-fi fantasy show starring Henry Cavill as the Geralt of Rivia gathered immense popularity worldwide. However, the past few months had left the fans in a state of shock. As fans slowly recover from the news of Liam Hemsworth taking up the mantle of the Geralt after Henry Cavill, it seems like there are some updates about where the show is headed.

Ever since Hemsworth replaced Cavill as the lead, everyone has been eager to know more about what the show plans for the future.  With season 3 to premier very soon, every fan has their eye on that one significant alteration. And recently, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich dropped some hints about the show’s crown jewel, a.k.a. The Geralt of Rivia.

What did Lauren Schmidt Hissrich say about Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt?

As we all know, every single fan of The Witcher has been in a state of complete confusion and shock. Everyone has their eye on how the creators will take the show forward after replacing Henry Cavill. And as we all wait to see Hemsworth take up the mantle, the showrunner dropped a major update about the fourth season.

In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Hissrich revealed, “Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in Season 4.” Furthermore, she spoke about how they have created a different Geralt than what the fans were expecting. Meanwhile, to spice things up, Hissrich added, “now, by the way, that’s an understatement.” 

However, this is not the first Hemsworth’s name has been taken parallel to the role of Geralt. Apparently, the Captain America star was the frontrunner even before Henry Cavill. However, Hemsworth is not new to taking up a successful role based on a novel. Previously, the actor even starred in the popular Hunger Games franchise. Meanwhile, the Witcher fans are still sour about the replacing Henry Cavill as the Geralt.

It seems like Henry Cavill still has some distance to go as the Geralt of Rivia. Apparently, as per the showrunner, the third season might be released in two parts. Owing to that, the fans can still enjoy seeing Cavill as the Geralt for a longer time.
