The man had previously guested on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he expressed his wish to buy the team. The team went on sale on Nov 5 after the sudden demise of its long-time owner, Eugene Melynk. He bought the team in 2003 and died at the age of 62 due to certain health complications. His daughters, Anna and Olivia continue to oversee the activities of the team.
On the show, the actor explained to Fallon that he needs to enter a consortium to buy the team. The Hollywood superstar is a very wealthy man, however, the price tag of the team which is currently valued at $525 million is a little too steep for him.
