Opening themes are a huge deal for fans. They listen to the openings of their favorite shows on a loop. And as far as openings go, FRIENDS has the most iconic openings in a show ever. Even after almost two decades of the show’s end, people still listen to and recreate it. And now, a huge fan of Netflix’s new teen show Heartstopper has made a new theme for the show using FRIENDS as a template.

All those who were born in the 90s know what a sensation the show FRIENDS was. The series is still beloved by fans, for all the characters. There hasn’t been a replacement for the show or its iconic characters.

Even The Rembrandt’s opening theme, “I’ll Be There For You,” has its own fan following. And now, a fan of the Netflix teen drama Heartstopper has reimagined its opening as the famous opening of the FRIENDS.

Appearing in the order of the new theme are Kit Connor, Joe Locke, William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, and finally, it ends with “Created by Alice Oseman.” The original Heartstopper opening theme is an instrumental by Adiescar Chase.

Just like FRIENDS, Heartstopper too deals with the issues of everyday problems mixed with the support of real friends. So people seeing similarities between the two shows is natural.

Heartstopper, however, goes one step further in having a huge impact on its viewers by touching issues that young members of the LGBTQ face but portraying them in a way that has never been done before. The Netflix Original has quickly become a sensation. The show has been able to earn two more seasons, and fans of the show cannot be any happier.

As Heartstopper is still one season old, no one knows what amount of fan base the show will amass by its third or even fourth probable season. However, it is safe to say the amount it already has is extremely overwhelming and appreciative.
